The PTC-CSJ Foundation, as part of its commitment to help improve basic education outcomes, is supporting the Department of Education’s (DepEd) 2025 Summer Programs from May 13 – June 6, 2025.
The 2025 Summer Programs are meant to “proactively prepare learners through focused remediation efforts to ensure that they would attain the required learning competencies at their grade level and transition to the next grade level”.
PTC-CSJ is supporting its 12 partner schools in Muntinlupa by feeding a nutritious lunch for 15 days to a total of 1,032 learners. This includes 622 Grade 2 learners who are part of the Regional Remediation Program (RRP) in Reading and Math, and 410 Grade 3 learners under the Literacy Remediation Program (LRP) in English.
While attendance of learners in the Summer Programs is mandatory, parents are more likely to comply and send their children to school given the provision of a free, healthy lunch.
With a lower teacher-to-learner ratio of 1:20 for the RRP and 1:10 for the LRP, significant improvements in post-test results are expected at the conclusion of the 15-day sessions. PTC-CSJ’s support for these initiatives is a key component of the Foundation’s Growing Good to Great Kids (3G) Program, which focuses on enhancing basic education outcomes.
